Dog Training Gear: Conditioning, Control and Drive

Dog training gear falls into three jobs: conditioning (build strength and endurance), control (handle a strong dog safely) and drive (reward and tug work). Bestia Dog Sport makes gear for large, active and working dogs in all three, most of it in our own workshop in Europe. Use this page to find the right tool for your goal.

Dog training gear FAQ

What training gear does a large, strong dog need first?

Start with control: a well-fitted 2-inch collar or a heavy-duty harness and a strong leash. Add conditioning gear such as a weighted vest or spring pole once the basics are in place.

Is Bestia Dog Sport gear made in-house?

Collars, harnesses including the weighted harness, and leashes are made in our own workshop in Europe. Spring gear is made in Europe by a partner, and FirePaw treadmills are made by FirePaw, sold by us as an official dealer.

Which collar suits training a strong dog?

For most strong dogs a 2-inch nylon collar with stainless steel hardware is a solid everyday choice. Pick a handle collar if you often need close control.

Do you ship training gear to the US?

Yes. US orders over $100 ship free by economy service.
